Hey guys,

I took my 98 GSX Limited (97 prod, white motor) out last weekend, and upon returning home and drying it out, I noticed a threaded hole with an obvious bolt missing. I also found a nut lying on the bottom of the bilge, but no bolt. It is the first legit ride I had with this machine since buying it, and I cannot say for sure it was missing before. I reached around the backside of it and there is no obvious hole or bolt falling out the other side.

I took some pics to show you where it is. I searched the parts diagrams and cannot seem to find what is suppose to be there.

This is the nut I found lying at the bottom of the bilge. Looks similar to all the nuts used on the through hull bolts, but none of them that I could see were missing.

Thanks.

P.S. Before any of you say "change the gray fuel lines &@$#@!!"... Yes, that is my top priority and will be my first project this fall/winter.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but, there's no bolt that goes there cuz I thought the same thing.... I think that's the same place but look close and see if you see threads.... Someone else will be chimming in........

OK Man, Good news, I went out in the Garage just now, and I have 2 Ski's, There both threaded like yours but, both Empty like yours so, I don't think anything goes there but, why is it threaded and we have 3 Ski's here with no bolt??? I don't know man....:banghead:

Awesome! I think I found proof too. I was looking through the shop manual to see if I could get a look at it in one of the pictures and see that the hole is empty as well. And it is.

Thanks for checking for me. I feel better knowing they are missing on your skis too.

Cool Deal Man! Funny thing is, I went through this same thing but, I wasn't sure if it was the same hole so, I just had to go out in the Garage to check! Still though, why is there a threaded hole, for nothing, Hmmmmn, LOL...
