Hey guys! New to the forum. Been lurking the shadows for a while. I have finally found the guts (and money) to purchase my first boat. Have been doing my research for the last couple of years, and I owe a lot of my “knowledge” to forms like these, so thanks in advance.
now for question time! I am stuck between two boats:
2012 sea doo challenger 180 sp $24,000 CAD ($17,000 USD), 216 hours
And
2014 scarab 195HO $34,000 CAD ($24,000 USD) 160 hours.
trying to keep it around this price range as I’m buying mostly in cash, and trying to keep this size as my tow vehicle tops out around 5500lbs.
do you guys think the scarab is worth the extra 10k? How much maintenance is required on these after 6 years? How will the challengers supercharger hold up past 300 hours? How often does it need to be rebuilt?
any advice is appreciated!!
