Need Advice with 2005 RXT

A friend is asking for my help changing a supercharger in a 2005 RXT that he bought used. From what I understand the previous owner said the supercharger was taking on water and that's why it needed replacement.
I am not at all familiar with this machine and have a few questions.
Do I need any special tools such as code readers, laptops and fault or time bomb reset software?
Once the supercharger is replaced do I need to worry about what caused water to be ingested in the first place?
Does water ingestion within the supercharger hurt any other parts of the engine?
Thank you,
J

Supercharges don’t inherently take on water unless they are flooded by improper flushing or the engine gets actually flooded by the ski sinking or being tipped over longer than 5 minutes. Superchargers “need replacement” when the clutch washers or roller bearings fail and either one can cause serious engine problems. Sounds like a can of worms and plan on doing more than just replacing the supercharger.

You need special tools to rebuild a supercharger but not to just take it out.
Yes
Main concern the roller bearings in the supercharger are washed with water and will fail if not replaced.
