Need advice on 2 2012 GTIs

I have the opportunity to get 2 2012 GTIs with an aluminum double trailer for $5000. Seller states that the dashes are both shot. He states ones runs great other does not. I am planning on doing a compression on the working one but can't on the other since it is a no crank.

I currently have a 96xp and 95gtx and have done a bunch of work to them so I am not worried about the basic stuff like carbon seal, jet pump, etc. But is there things that I may not think about going from 2 stroke to 4 stroke seadoo?

Is this too good of deal to pass up?

Seems like a no-brainer. I'd jump on that deal assuming no red flags. Where are you located?

I enjoyed going from a two stroke Sea Doo to a four stroke. A little more complicated and computer-heavy but not rocket science.

The dead ski could be an easy fix; could need an entire new motor. You'll never know until you inspect it.

LCD's (info centers) are about $800 each and will require programming from the dealer.

Without the info centers, you won't have any idea of the amount of hours on the skis.

That said...a single, well running 4 stroke on a double aluminum trailer is worth $5000.

Yeah I thought about the hours but a compression test should tell me if the motors are good. I also found videos of people replacing the polarization film and fixing the info centers. Hopefully these just need that. I am going to look at them. I convinced myself worst thing that could happen is I get my money back if the one is completely toast

Those GTIs are beat and most likely have 1000 plus hours since they look to be former rentals from Florida. Trailer is an old rusty galvanized, not aluminum, that is way too small for those skis. If it were too good of a deal then it wouldn't have lasted 7 weeks on marketplace. I thought about buying them but I have a really tough time selling high hour beat skis.

You should do a leak down test if you really want to know if the engines are good. I would take BUDS and check hours as well as history.

If you plan on new motors, replacing IBRs, fixing gauges, and getting them presentable, you will have more money in them than they are worth.

Thanks for the information. I knew they may not be in the best shape but it never crossed my mind they could have been florida rentals. Will ask for a little more info before I waste a trip. I knew in my mind it had to be too good to be true.

Gotta link so we can see the ad?

It was actually taken down yesterday. He lied to me about where they were previously so I have decided not even to go look.
