Sadly, I think winter is here though (Ohio).

May have to wait to spring to actually enjoy them...

With you being in Ohio, unless you truly think your going to get some use of it before winterizing, I'd leave them in box and put them on your work bench, or coffee table, so you can look at them with glee. I actually enjoy looking things over like that, because then you get other idea, or have other questions. For instance, you know how to put it on. But, all of a sudden, you see another fastener. Now, your curious as to what that one fastener is for. You've got all winter now to figure it out.

Awesome impeller... In all my experience, it's taking your time, don't get in any hurry, and you'll do your best work.

Well,, don't think time will be an issue as it is looking like I will have all winter unless some freak weather breaks...

I will admit, it is fun just looking at the pretty colors and bright lights.. LOL

Goodie-Goodie! Looks like Christmas came early in Ohio this year.... lol!

Don't forget to grab a stick of marine epoxy to fill those ride plate bolt hole recesses with (and a little duct tape to cover the bolt heads before filling with epoxy!). Also some blue loctite for the intake grate bolts, and a little anti-seize for the impeller (the bolt for it is kept tight by the impeller rotation, so you anti-seize it instead of loctiting it ok?).

Michael,,,

I have pulled all the manuals and read them at least a few times over. I am off on Tuesday and Wednesday, so if it is decent at all, I will try to get these installed and then winterized the skis as well.

I really wanted to get out for a test drive with the goodies installed but that is not looking too promising.

Thanks for the advice on the grey tap, I was wondering the best way to smooth the holes but make the bolts still accessible.

Thanks again,,,

Actually Joe, get a little cord (thin nylon rope from hardware store) and cut 3 inch lengths of it.... wrap a piece of cord around the head of each bolt then stick a piece of duct tape over the bolt head + rope. This way the epoxy cannot get in around the bolt head, and if you ever need to you can use flat-tipped screw driver and hammer to tap the epoxy plugs out to get access to the bolts again. One or two wacks will break each plug loose and out, if needed.

I found a paint scraper very handy in smoothing over the marine epoxy plugs before it starts to harden, then once fully hardened block-sand with 100 grit sandpaper to flush with the ride plate. And that's it, you're done!

Regards!

I pLan on using heavy coated wax line to surround the bolt heads. The stuff used when you splice a line for example.

That will solve all potential issues.

Sounds good to me. Have fun! You'll enjoy it next year I have no doubt.

I plan to add that same wedge to my RXT before next Spring also, I already have the intake grate and Solas impeller installed. Maybe find some parts for a VTS system as well and figure out how to graft them onto my RXT. I have the chrome handlebar faceplate with the VTS buttons already, just need the switches and wiring harnass, VTS motor unit and trimmable nozzle assembly... I think.

As I have the VTS on mine I went with the largest wedge I could as I knew I could adjust it down via the VTS if need be.

I am looking forward to next season for sure. Sadly it is many months away,,,
