Ok I'm board so I'm going to go threw the whole post and read everything over again.
I missed something somewhere! Either way sselzer just measure the piston or bring it to an auto parts store and have them do it. Then you can figure out what size piston you need. But if theses are the cylinders in the pics I saw then at very least hone them. They should not be shiny! They should have a cris cross pattern to hold oil to the walls.
Lol it's the top of this page he did pick up a new engine.
But I think he's back to the old one.

Pick up engine tomorrow, but want to finish engine anyway for the experence

I havent read the thread so sorry if this has already been said or solved but from the qoute above that racer has on his post. You can go to 1. Over but then your sleeves are maxed out, i think sbt will resleeve them for the same price. I would go that route and just get the stock pistons.

Jetskigooddie he can get a deal on 83. MMs that's why I asked what size he could go to.

Sselzer did you end up selling that 720 engine?

You picking up the new 787 and rebuilding the old one?

SBT sell 1.5's no friggin way I'd MAX out.

Don't forget SS your gonna need to clearance your RAVE guillotines.

Didn't sell the 720 yet, picking the engine tomorrow, and am thinking about sell the old engine since it has good parts now.

I just got the motor, its in great shape, can't wait to repaint it and put some of my custom powder coated parts on it, when come in.

Thanks anthonygrato, now I have to find a good deal on new cylinder pistons as the old one's were .50 over and are still in great condition, but I ruined the heads if you remember.

Since I have that renewer rebuild engine with less then 20 hours on it, I was going to put my powder coated head and raves on that and install it in the gsx. The PO paint the mag cover to match the paint color of the rebuild with a brush, can I use a paint stripper on the engine, after making sure every opening is taped off?

I need to remove the starter from the engine and the one bollt is a 13mm and I can't fit a stock or a wrench on it because their no room around bolt. Does any have any suggestions? Thanks.

I have gotten to them from the back with a long 3/8" extension & a 13mm swivel socket. Hard to see them, but its not too bad.

You have so many ski's now, I haven't been following which one your workng on tho.... ;)

I'm work on the 96 gsx, noticed there was some water that some how have gotten in the crank, but it's a milky color. Have the engine on it's with the rotary plate off to help drain it. Still get a wrench around the starter bolt no room around it, it's up against the block of the 787 engine.

Well taped off any opening to the motor and sprayed some paint stripper on it to rid the mismatch paint and brush strokes. Hope it comes off clean. Still unable to remove starter bolt 'no room around bolt head to fit a socket or wrench' make have to drill it out.

Are you sure it is a bolt and not an allen screw? All my 787's have 2 allen screws in the front, one in the back that holds the starter support bracket. There is a bolt on the side that holds the ground cable on but that can come off with a wrench once the starter is in a better position. Sorry if I read it wrong but I don't think you need a 13mm to remove the starter.

There were two allen screws and a bolt that would fit a #13 socket if there was room around thee head of the bolt, but it's too close to the sides of the case.

What number bolt are you trying to remove? Ya got 4 bolts and a nut to choose from. 19, 30, 32, 28, or 23?

Here's some pictures, looks like the PO used a differemt bolt when attaching the starter to the rebuild engine.

You can see in the one picture that I don't have room to fit a wrench in.

Too bad, the PO got it backwards, the allen screw is on the ground cable and the bolts every else. He didnt even use stainless which means they will be in there pretty tight. Try grinding down the walls of a socket to make it thinner. Hopefully there will be enough strength there to remove the bolt.
