You all will remember when I bought my Utopia 205 at Smith Powersports I "Thought" they sold me a 36 month extension BEST PLUS warranty(total of 4 years coverage). When I received my warranty card from BRP it reflected only a 24 month extension and no "PLUS" coverage. The PLUS coverage covers all scheduled services.

To make a long story short Smith made a mistake on the paperwork when it was filled out and never intended to sell me that coverage. The reason Ken in the business office didnt catch it was because when the form was printed out their printer form was offset in the printer and he "Thought" the 24 month box was checked. Kind of an honest mistake but I still have the contract that suggests BEST PLUS 36 month extension.

In the end and after many calls to Smith and to BRP the issue has been resolved to my satisfaction. My BEST warranty is now a 36 month extension and Charles the owner of Smith Powersports has called my dealer direct and funded the 10 hour service on my behalf. $590 plus tax. In the end I'm satisfied and this issue is put to rest.

Hats off to BRP and to Charles. They earned my respect as they could easily have blown me off and all I would have been left with was a BBB complaint which I did not do.

The final item I'm waiting on is for BRP to send an under seat storage BIN thats been on backorder and then I'm complete.

I believe Smith Powersports does care about its customers and there own reputation. They are a busy outfit and sometimes things slip through the cracks. While Tony didnt have complete resolution, Smith earned my respect and when I need another motorcycle or boat I will probably make a call to them first as I know they will take care of me in the end. Thank you Charles!

Great news!

Good to hear you are happy - I wasn't sure if it was going to turn out so well.
I don't know the dealers involved, but I do know dealers - having worked at two - I don't trust anyone there :(

Great to hear that it all got resloved to your satisfaction:hurray:
And I understand your feelings towards Smith's If I were you than I would feel the same way, but they didn't do the work on your boat. You have a quailty dealer do it. I agree Smith does have some great prices.
