MY boat is haunted. Please send help.

As some of you may know I was taken for a ride by a previous mechanic. He installed a electric box from a waverunner into my jetboat. I just had my engine rebuilt by another mechanic. I just replaced the o-rings, tapped the exhaust manifold threads and finally got everything to not leak water.....NOW IT WON'T START! NO clicks or anything.

I hooked my battery charger up to it and it was at 75%, when I hit the start button is does not pull any amps. Is there something I am missing? We had it running today for a short time but as soon as we shut it off it wouldn't start. It did this the last time we took it out too and had to be towed back.

I am at my wits end with this thing. Please tell me where to look. All electrical connections appear to be fine.

I think my starter is bad. I jumped the terminals on the solenoid and nothing happened. No click, no nothing. I am getting power in and out of solenoid.

I was told starter is new.

If you jump the posts and get nothing, sounds like a starter issue, or the motor is locked up.

I took off all the battery cables, cleaned them and still nothing. For sh!ts and gigs I put a cable from the battery - to the top of the engine block and hit the button.... IT'S ALIVE!

Bad ground.


She runs great now.

I just had the engine rebuilt last week so I was pretty sure it was not seized.
