98 gsx limited. After riding 15-20 minutes there is about 2 inches of water in the hull. Enough that I have to lift it and drain it. I have already read the post on the siphon tubes (and will be checking that). I have taken the seat off and ran it in the water on the lift. I don't see where the water is coming from. The cooling hoses don't look like they are leaking and I don't see any water coming out of the boots. We filled up the hull with a hose and couldn't see any water coming out and just sitting in the water doesn't put water in the hull. What other areas should I check? I can't tell if the bailers work or not and this model doesn't have a bilge pump (yet).

Ok so it's only when it's running.

Check the welch plugs on your exhaust pipe.

Remove the plastic cover over the carbon seal and check it while idling along.

Double check your cooling lines.

Be sure your driveshaft isn't bent .

Where are the welch plugs on the exhaust?

Also we are in fresh water. Not sure if those would corrode or not.

Those are the 3-4 big circles with a weld around them on your pipe. They will all leak eventually....get them tig welded for best results.

Make sure your bailers are properly attached/not blocked up..

My 98 GSX gets water in from the footwells.. The stock mat is coming up and pulled several rivets out.. That's where water comes from in mine..

Ride it with the seat off, some leaks only happen when the cooling system is getting full pressure from the pump.

When I get back to the lake I will take it out with the seat off and check the carbon ring. It excellerates good and I hit 6500 rpms no problem. I did run it in the water on the lift giving it some throttle but backed off since I didn't want to launch it off the lift. I picked up new siphon tubes but don't see how to install them? I will also check the welch plugs but does anyone know of a coolant line diagram? I want to also trace the lines and replace if needed.

Just got up to take a look and I am missing a siphon tube. As soon as the weather finishes clearing I am going to install a new one. Hopefully that will take care of it. I am still going to test it with the seat off just in case.

I know it should hit 7k Rpms but its not in mint condition. Probably could use some fine tuning on the rebuilt carbs.
