2000 RX millenium edition for $500 with trailer in decent shape. Motor will start but knocks bad and will need rebuild. Would you take it at that price? I don't mind doing the work. I've had a 951 before.

If it is in good condition I think I would. When you are done with the build it will be close- ish to it's value. But it will be a great long term ski.

I was thinking of just getting it running to have as a spare or if someone else wants to tag along. Maybe just take it and leave it at the cottage so I don't have to keep trailering my RXT back and forth. Should last a few good years on a fresh rebuild I would think. Don't see myself putting more than 10hrs on it per season

Now if I could just source a cheap running 951 from somewhere. Or what else can I stuff in there?

I think the 00 Millenium RX is the best looking ski there is.

I think there are two color schemes out there on that one. The regular 00 and then the blue/grey. Maybe I'm thinking of another millennium model?

I would just build a fresh 951 you can trust. Sometimes they come through used inexpensively but you never know what your getting. That's what's good about this deal....you can get into it cheap enough to still be ahead when you make a good ski out of it.

Think he's talking about the black/red/grey color scheme, we had one pop up locally for a good price and we were both oogling over it.

send the engine out to a rebuild shop. get a no fault warranty. I've run mine like I stole it for years now from SES, still runs amazing, even after hydrolocking it (again lol) this weekend.

My XP likes to pretend it's a submarine.

it is very clean. Looked rougher under a thick coat of dust, dirt, and bird doo doo. After talking to the guy for a min, he told me it ran fine, then he put it away for a while. When he put it back in the water and it made a knocking/rattling noise but still ran good. He took it out and started it on the hose and it was doing the same thing but louder. He assumes the engine is bad. Personally I'm hoping for a pump bearing making a racket back there. I guess I won't know till I charge or replace the battery and drain the leftover fuel (been in there 3 years) and crank it to see what happens. I'm hoping for the best but expecting to pull the motor. It would be sweet if I scored a ski that needs a pump rebuild for a whole lot less than $500. Yes I got it for less than that and that's all I'm saying on that subject.

Nope it wasn't listed. It was a friend if a friend type of deal and got first dibs before he listed it. He didn't wanna deal with the hassle of cleaning it and dealing with people.

No idea. Didn't come with a battery and I haven't even touched it yet since I parked. I'll take a look this weekend. Frankly at what I paid for it I could care less if it has 400 lol

After having a min to look it over, I pulled the plugs and they look fine, judging by the gaskets the top half has been apart before and I also found some nasty looking metal fragments by the pump tunnel. Battery is on the charger and hopefully it'll have enough life in it so I can see the hr meter and if the trim works.

Well it looks like it has a few hrs on it but this explains the motor being apart once and possibly the metal chunks in the hull

If you have to replace the motor, I just bought a rebuilt 800 motor from a guy in Clarkston. He was reasonably priced and very helpful. It's got a 1 year no fauly warranty, and I paid $850 for it, out the door with a gasket kit.

Here's his information:

I've also heard great things about Full Bore, in Alpena, but never delat with them personally.

Good score though, I alomost bought one fo those last year,a dn could kick myself for not doing it.

Thanks for that info. If that's the case I'm planning on putting in the elbow grease myself and have a dealer locally that's gonna give me a good deal on a new factory crank and upper kit. I'm hoping the case is ok. If I decide to just buy a rebuilt motor I'll look your guy up. With the 951 I'm more leery about who does the work because they are a little more finicky than the 800.
