I posted a while back about my GSXL with a cranking problem with no spark etc. I put another mpem in and had it programmed and now she will at least start. But now the new problem is the pto cylinder is not firing and I have a couple questions. #1 the compression is down to 120psi on that cylinder and 135 on the stator side. But in my opinion thats enough to at least fire that cylinder....agree or disagree? I know the performance may be down or whatever but my goal is to at least get this ***ch to run.
With further troubleshooting I found that there is no fuel getting to that cylinder thru the carb. I did have them off and cleaned them and they looked fine. I did not do the pop off test and that may be my problem #2 question, I am guessing that the needle is stuck on that carb causing no fuel flow, agree....disagree?
By the way, there is plenty of spark to the plug and it is dry as the desert when you pull it out....no fuel or oil on it at all.
Anybody with some quick ideas to confirm this before I pull all that crap off to get to the carbs?
I was thinking maybe some carb cleaner sprayed in that carb and see if that cylinder will pick up and fire??
As always.....any input is appreciated!

Avoid trying starting fluids. They have no lube and can cause damage to the engine.

If you suspect carb problems, then why not take the time to pull them apart and get some new parts in there. These older machines require some new parts from time to time. Thats just how it is. They wont last forever from factory.

120 PSI will fire a two stroke. However, with 135 on the other side, your variance is getting too far off. That thing needs a rebuild.

A carb kit, good carb cleaning, check the oil filter and lines, check your fuel pump pulse line, if theres grey fuel lines they need to go.

As above... 120 will fire that jug... but that engine won't be running once you put it in the water. You should be seeing close to 150 PSI, so that engine is at the end of it's life.

From the carb problems.....

You have to check the pop-off. It's the single most important thing to check. It wont verify that the carb will work... but if you don't know where it's at... the carb could be perfect, and the engine may not run.

Spraying carb cleaner down the carb's throat won't do a thing... other than displace oil, and cause engine damage. On a 2-stroke... proper fueling is the life blood of the engine. On a 4-stroke, a bad carb is annoying... but on a 2-stroke... you can cause the engine to eat itself. The only way to fix it, it to take it apart, and verify everything as it goes back together.

For the PTO jug....

I was going to give you a few things to check... but really, with 120 psi, and a known non-working carb... there is no need. You need to do a top end, and clean the carbs.
