How's it going everyone?? Just like the title says im possibly becoming a new owner of a ski if everything goes good. The ski is an 11 rxp-x as with 9 hours on it. Im buying it used and curious what to look for. I've read some on here and people say try and water test it if possible. Im trying to be able to do that. It comes with a B.E.S.T warranty till 2016 so im very glad of that so should I really be concerned about anything? We're meeting away from our homes and he's not going to be able to hose it and start it. Any thoughts??

Something that new with that little run time there shouldn't be anything wrong. That said insist on a test ride. If the owner declines there's usually a good reason.

I would confirm the warranty status with a dealership, you can start the ski on the trailer for a short time (Less than min) to make sure the thing runs at least. Thats a really nice ski ... with a really good warranty. I'm assuming the seller just doesn't use it??

This is what I saw on the warranty. Let me know if this warranty covers everything I need in yalls opinion. Are there usually any problems with them that this warranty will not cover??? Thanks y'all. I don't know anything about skis.

There's always things that the warranty doesn't cover. Anything that's wear and tear such as impeller, wear ring etc. a lot depend on the dealer also. My 08 RXT came with ceramic washers in the supercharger (issue fixed in 08 models). Dealer said it wasn't covered under warranty at 27hrs when they came apart and taking the motor out. In the end I called BRP and explained the issue and they picked up the bill.

All in all it sounds like you're gonna be ok for most things that can come up as long as that warranty is transferable.

According to the link I posted it says it transfers to me with no cost

Also had any1 heared of any problems with the 260s?

Yea some sank but mainly the RXT-X. Some waterbox issue. I forget the details.

Im pretty sure the ski has not been summarized yet and if I get to take it for a test ride will that hurt anything on the ski since its not ready for summer??

Welcome to the forum francis1291. Like the other's have said, with such low hours and the transferable warranty you should be in good shape. I would still try for the ride test, but for me personally it would not be a deal breaker because of the low hours and warranty. Keep us posted on what you decide.

As long as the battery is installed so you can start it, then you can ride it. If it was properly winterized then it should be ready to go. It may feel a little "slower" with the old gas from last season even if it has been treated but that will go away after fresh gas. It's not too noticeable mainly throttle response won't be as crisp at higher rpm. You may not even be able to notice it.

Well that's good to know. Im excited about getting this ski. I needa find some people near augusta that could also ride

I plan to ride allot this summer on Lake Sinclair if you ever want to come down that way! I'll be at the lake every weekend in May and June!

Well got an update for y'all. I couldn't get the ski I was posting about so I went to a local dealer and got a 12 rxt 260. I really wanted the 260 as because it looked bad ass compared to the regular rxt but hey its a 12 with 0 hours and how many 21 year olds can say they pay for all there shit? Reason I couldn't get the AS is because my bank though some weird crappy was going on so I said ill just get a new one. Ill post some pictures up Monday or Tuesday when I get it.

I'm sure the dealer told you this but for the first 5hrs of run time the computer is in nanny mode and will restrict performance during the break in time. After that it lets loose and hauls a$$.

No they didn't tell me that. They said take it easy for 2 tanks of fuel

Oh ok. I know for sure that the X models do that but I'm fairly certain that its across the board for the supercharged models.

Well I bought it yesterday and I might take it to the lake today after work. Its 60-70 here in GA so I still have some thinking to do on it

That's awesome congrats have fun! Just got snow again ... Only doo I'm going out on is skidoo.
