I'm pretty sure you will need the mpem from the 96 GTI as this is a different motor from the 95 GTX. The 95 GTX is a 657X, and the 96 GTI is a 717.

Is the GTI hull trashed? Moving it to another hull isnt gonna solve the wiring gremlins you are dealing with.

i bought the 96 gti with electrical problems . and the ski is ruff . the 95 gtx i just bought looks like new has been stored in side and looks great . the man i just bought it from said his son took the head off of it to repair it and never did. do they blow head gaskets easy. i thought the 95 not having a security system would be easy to work on

Im pretty sure you cant use the 657 electronics b/c the rev limiter isnt high enough, but I could be wrong. I know the 587 eboxes arent.

i read that the gti had a 14 pitch prop and the gtx had a 11 pitch i will need to use the gti prop and the rpms will stay the same i hope lol

The rev limiter is electronic....I just looked it up and they are the same...7000. You should switch that prop too...along with aligning the motor.

Oh and sell me the GTI electronics cheap since they "dont work" ;)

same MPEM

The '95 GTX 657X engine MPEM is a compatable change and works with the 717 (720) engine four wire stator
and flywheel. Just install the 720 motor, align it, and you will have no problem with the electronics. FYI: the
'95XP 720cc ALSO uses the 278000423 MPEM. A small 20 ohm adapter was added in the xp e-box to plug in
a tachometer just before the rectifier. You will have a 7k rev limit. You will have 5 extra pony's. (HP). Take
the opportunity while the engine is out to upgrade the fuel lines. I like Goodyear Red Stripe 1/4" (20') USCG
black fuel line. Disassemble & clean the aluminum fuel selector switch or replace it with a plastic one. Check
your RV clearance spec while engine is out, and paint the carbs after cleaning the internal filters, and be sure
to use Mikuni OEM kits & new needles-seats, pressure test the carbs AFTER re-assembling for the POP-OFF.
Lots of info in the HOW-TO section here on the above. If useing the '95 duals you will need to re-jet to
the '95 xp 720 carbs jetting specs, you didn't specify your carb preference on this build. A clean fuel
delivery is key to great performance! http://seadoosource.com/impellerref.html Hope this helps!
