Hey I've got a sea doo engine in a Jon boat and was wondering can I use a 12v marine battery to start my motor instead of the small powersport battery I've been using? It would cut down on the number of batteries I'm currently using. That way I can run my bilge pump and live well off of same battery.

Yes you absolutely can. Just be aware that if it’s low or has a big draw like a trolling motor the charging system on the engine probably won’t bring it up.

The charging coil on these isn’t like an alternator and will just barely keep the small stock battery topped off.

You could probably use a big deep-cycle and top it off at home. I know I can start small 2cyl engines off a healthy deep cycle.
