Hi guys - I am having trouble starting my 2007 Wake as you can see in the video link here:

I have only driven the machine three times this year and it has never started on the first time. However, last night (when i took the video) I was unable to start the machine. It had trouble starting earlier in the day but ran just fine once it was started (I got a check engine P1513 code when i was attempting to start it, but it went away once it was started).

Not sure if this is related, but almost every time over the past 3 years when i start my machine i get the '12V battery Low' upon start up, but it goes away almost right away. I brought the machine back to the dealer when i first got it, and they said they put a new battery in and they also did something else because the hours on my machine reset.

Anyhow, does anyone know what could be causing the issue in the video?

I think you should charge or replace the battery. You could probably check voltage just sitting to see what it is, but not likely necessary. Whatever the voltage is, It doesn’t appear that you have enough voltage to keep the starter bendix engaged with the flywheel, turning the engine over. The starter engages for a second or two and then releases.

You were right, it is a dead battery. Very odd because it's the second one I have had in 4 years... I actually noticed a very tiny amount of liquid coming out of it when i was putting it back in the machine this year. Going to grab an AGM one with a ton more cranking amps!

Glad you are up and running! I know a trickle charger seems to help batteries stay charged and last longer if you are a seasonal rider. Might be worth another $30 investment in a trickle charger to see if you can get several years out of one battery - they aren't cheap.

Think I’m going to buy a trickle charger for sure. I went to interstate for the battery and it was $280CAD but it’s AGM and 500 CCA’s. They said I can get 3-4 years out of it but I hope to extend that…
