I have a '97 gtx and once i put the lanyard on it comes up 12 volt low,starts up ok and runs fine,but decided to swap out batteries from my other ski and still says the same,but does start and run,just had the carbs rebuilt at hamilton seadoo in nj and they checked the charging system and said it was fine,should i worry.

I have this same model and year ski. If that light is only coming on while you are cranking, it's normal. The reason it comes on is because you are using a lot of your amps to crank the motor. During this time, the charging system is not sending back any current to the battery. So, it shows a signal of 12 volt low.
As long as this goes out from your info center upon starting, then it's normal. If it stays on for a while, then goes out, the battery is going bad. If it stays on, you might have a charging system problem.......:cheers:
