So i was tightening the hose clamps on top of my fuel baffle with a small flathead (3 inch) screwdriver and I dropped it- I heard it hit the back or left side of the fuel tank on it's way down into the bilge.... I tried to feel for it, but no way I can fit my hand/arm down into that small area.... My question- is there anything I have to worry about regarding that screwdriver getting caught on something or migrating somewhere underneath the motor where it could do some harm??? I really don't want to have to remove the pipe/carbs/whatever else to be able to reach under the motor if I don't have to.....

So it's just in the hull?

Lift the machine all the way up and listen for it to move, and down again. It will actually make it's way to the back when you run it.

Could also put some water in the hull and do the same as above to help move it.

It won't do much other than bounce around, until you can get it near the back bilge pumps.

I agree with thumper, a small screwdriver will eventually make it's way to the rear. You would be surprised what people leave in the hull, beer can and bottles, anchors, ropes, you name it. Some people think the bilge is additional storage.

I'll try adding water inside the hull and lifting the ski up and down; that sounds like it may work. Thanks for the suggestion!

Watch the bottom of the hulls with your hands, that fiberglass can tear the SH$t out of them.

LOL. I bought a used full size boat once when I was cleaning her up I found a full can of Falstaff in the bilge. I was tempted to chill it down and drink it but I didn't care for Falstaff when you could get it fresh so I figured I would hate it while skanky!

Anyway, get a small magnet on a flexible shaft and work it around until you find it. I wouldn't leave it there. You never know what potential damage it could cause.
