Me & the Ol~Lady have been out on the Lake the last 2 weeks and her Doo has definately lost power over the past 2 outings! I checked the Compression and it hasn't dropped, both Cylinders are right at 150 so, that's not the problem and it starts right up and no bogging down or cutting out so, I traded her again and the Ski sounds like it's really getting it but, it's going NO-WHERE!...Her top speed is only 40mph & she weighs only 100 lbs. so, when I got on it, It was ugly.... Prolly something simple wearing out but, me being the NooB, Just trying to learn, what can it be cuz the engine seems to be fine... Thanks for any help........ :bigear:

Sounds like cavitation. It is revving up and going nowhere. So it isnt an engine issue. It is a pump issue. I bet the wear ring is just worn out. Search the topic on here and you will find a wealth of info.

Is it really bad if you nail it from a dead stop?

I have seen alot of talk of the wear ring and was thinking this and yes, you got it, nothing from the takeoff man, just alot of noise! Is there much to this? I guess I will do a search on it and at least it's getting too cold around here now! Time to get the wrenches back out! Thanks!
