Good morning everybody, I've always wanted a jet ski and picked up a 94 tigershark 640 a while back and have never been able to get it running. Just found recently that it has low compression on one of the cylinders (80 psi and 125 psi on the other). I'm looking to upgrade to something more reliable, powerfull, features, less hours, and less work.
I found a 2003 XP DI with 75 hours on it and a double trailor for about 4500. I was wondering if this is a good price and how reliable these engines are. I like the fact that its a 2 cycle for reliability but I know that BRP had problems with their early direction injection two cycle engines as the Evinrude Ficht's were plagued with issues. This being the first model year Seadoo introduced the DI line worries me. I was googling for issues with this ski and came across the below thread which is how I found this forum.

It seems his problem was more misdiagnosis. So what do you guys think about the XP DI? reliable? are there any performance upgrades for it?
