Go for an '08+ p-x. Besides the extra 40 horses....it's the bigger tunnel....better hook up...and with only a coupla minor mods...easy 73+mph ski...all day long....through the heat of the summer....reliably.

I'd do the 09 or later as some 08's had the ceramic washers still.

I have heard of a fee 09's with them but VERY few. Must have been an early production.

I found a 05 with 69 hours on it for $4500. is that a good deal?

It's not a bargain, but could be with it if near you and in great condition with a trailer.

The SC will need at re very least new washers to remove re ceramic washers. If the own says it has been done you NEED proof. If no proof then it didn't happen.

Do a compression test ad a ride for 30 minutes or more.

I bought my untitled 09 RXT-X for $9999.00 in 2010.

I think you should be 4 grand max especially since it it time to winterize and store it.

If you test ride it and it runs right, you will WANT it. So discuss numbers first.

My ski hits 69 MPH all day long and is totally stick. I have had it at 73 MPH.

the guy said it has been garage kept and hasn't had any major work done. nothing with the wear ring or supercharger. no trailer. I have yet to go look at it.

At a minimum you are into it for a SC rebuild.

The ceramic washers are a MUST. And you are only 30 hrs from a full rebuild.

There is an updated kit that comes with the 09 shaft. This kit will get you 200 hrs.

If things are as they should be. Yes.

Impeller lune and oil changes are the only real maintenance.

Salt water locations require flushing and protectant on metal parts.

No matter How much this thing has been Maintained, Get yourself an Etorx set and remove the valve cover. Take a good look at the tops of the Valves and check for numbers, If it starts with 72****** Then tell him to drop the price 1k, If the valve tops have a 75******, thats one less possible failure to happen in the future. Remove the SC intake and try to gently spin the SC wheel by hand. DO NOT FORCE IT. If it spins freely, walk away. Take it from Costijoe, 07's and up.

I went with '08+ because of the tunnel alone. No matter what the previous owner tells me...no matter what kinda proof offered from his dealer ect for recently completing an upgraded sc rebuild....

I'm pulling the sc and sending it to Jerry anyway.

Allows for better pump loading...better hook up......more speed. Speed isn't everything...I know. However...when you get passed in the rough....by a 3 seater with two hotties on it. You'll remember this conversation.
