Hi RyanB,
I am having a similar issue but with a twin carb 96 GTI 720. Did you successfully get it fixed by correcting the pop-off?
Thanks,
Jerry

Hello Jerry,

Yes, The ski is running great at this point. After it's been run for a bit it takes a good 3-4 seconds of cranking for it to start. Other than that all seems well. Putting in the needle from the 1.5 I bought to replace my 2.0 needle fixed me right up. In my case the needles were exactly the same size. The seats had different passages. Once I went to the original spring (My friend bought an aftermarket rebuild kit) and put in the new needle I got a pop off in the range I needed. Also helped to use 2 cycle oil to test instead of WD40.

im having a little of the same issue except my fuel selector switch ive been running it on "reserve" to make it go wot havent had any trouble with it until 2 weekends ago took it out for weekend ran great on "reserve" itl only idle on the "on" position but now when on "reserve" it runs a few feet then dies out and restarts took it out of water checked plugs tgey were fine spun motor without plugs in it nothing shot out of the block luckily. took it home and was going to start it to blow water out and now it only turns over sounds like its not getting fuel i still have grey lines nad ive never touched the carbs .always ran great until this trouble 2000 seadoo gs 718cc (85hp) any advice would be great. ive been told possible bad fuel selector switcvh maybe?

-thanks cody

Cody,

I would assume at this point you should start with the grey fuel lines, complete rebuild of the carbs and clean your fuel selector switch.

how do I post on here? I got water in my seadoo xplimited today I pulled the plugs and got water out still wont start what do I do?

do you think it would cost alot to have new fuel lines, selector switch and carbs completly rebuilt if i was to take it to a mechanic? or could i save alot of money by trying to do it all myself?

Cody, I'd say it's a good 3-4 hour job to do all that. If you have 2 carbs your looking at like $130 in parts I think. Carb kits are around $50 I think then fuel lines and clamps are around $30. So whatever your local shop charges per hour plus parts? Might be worth it for you if your not mechanically inclined.

Bombardier, you may want to start a new thread...

alrighty that answers my ? then. i know very little about seadoos or any kind of motor, id love to learn more. i know batteries and spark plugs thats about it. thank you for the quick response very helpful.

I have a completely stock 95 SPi than has the bog / hesitation issues on acceleration. I have read most, if not all the threads here on Carb tuning and I want to know if there is just an easy to follow carb adjustment procedure for a bone stock 2-stroke that has no modified jets, pop-off springs, etc, etc. I just want to get the stock machine running the way it should. Anybody?

Thanks

Steve, I advise that you start a fresh thread for your problem.
