Looking for help with fuel system on my gtx di - wont start

Hi all.
New here from the uk so hello !

I have an issue starting my gtx di. I dont appear to get any fuel up the pipes to the engine and it wont start. Heres where I am at -

I have lifted off the fuel rail and pulled the injectors to see if they were blocked. Tried to fire it to see if the fuel came up. Nothing.

I have pulled the pipe off from the tank outlet and put the key in - Still get 2 beeps and the pump sounds like its working for 2 seconds but no squirt of fuel form the outlet. Pressed start for several seconds and engine turns but still no fuel squirts out any where. Should it? Does it need to be a sealed system to push fuel out?

I have now pulled the pump unit out of the tank. thats as far as I have got.

Really hoping someone can help here as I am stuck? Should fuel pump out regardless or as I have it all disconected , injectors etc , the ecu says dont pump fuel??????????????

Hi,

There is filter on the pump. you should see it once you get it out of the tank. Make sure it's clean.


BUT... with that said... the pump is probably bad. They don't live forever. If you do a quick search... there was a few guys working on using a Di pump from a car... and it was significantly cheaper than the OEM Seadoo pump.

Hiya, Yes there is a filter. Its fine as is the big one at the top. I just need to know if when I turn it on and crank it, fuel should squirt up out from the pump with the lines off and injectors out and un plugged. .
Didnt know if the ecu will recognise the injectors out or something. It makes a noise when the key is inserted but I cant get fuel up
 
Yes... if you have the hose disconnected... you should see some fuel come out when it cycles.
 
even with the injectors out? Ecu wont recognise this and tell the pump not to work ? I guess I could put them back in anyway.
So it doesnt need the pipes to be all connected up and airtight?

I should just see some fuel come out right? ?

Working from this I will buy a new after market pump then.... So I trust you are right buddy !!!! lol

Ok,
I have removed the actual pump and cleaned it all out, it was clogged and blocked. Unfortunately , when i was rebuilding the pump setup and the aluminum canister and putting the bottom plate back in the canister I accidentally broke the seal and aluminum bottom lip around the canister. The bottom still fits in but Im not sure how well it seals. Does any one know how critical the seal is at the bottom of the aluminum pump canister ? I thought the canister filled with fuel anyway. I dont understand it.
Please help !?
 
Post a few pics. It's been a while since I've had a Di pump in my hands.


Also... in post #5... the fuel won't come past the injectors. You have to open the fuel line coming out of the pump unit to see if it's pumping fuel.
 
The bottom seal on the aluminum reservoir (canister) is not super critical. It just keeps returning fuel from the rail in the reservoir, and from leaking back into the fuel tank. Ideally you would like a full and overflowing reservoir so the pump can always pull from that when needed. If you are turning sharp or bouncing around, and the tank is fairly empty, the reservoir will keep fuel flowing, since the main fuel pickup on the module bottom may run dry. The secondary fuel pickup inside the module would have plenty of fuel available. There is a foot-valve in the bottom of the module to retain fuel in the reservoir.
