I just purchased a 2001 lrv. It needs a new engine. I see a lot of them for sale on ebay and craigslist. Just wondering if anyone knew of a reputable company. I dont want to end up with a peice of junk. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Lots of folks here have used SBT with good results. You can get a 1 or 2 year no questions warranty too.

They do good work and you cant really beat the price on a motor with a warranty. You have to have an engine that is rebuildable as a core to send them though.

Never used SBT but have read all the pro/con threads. You still cant beat the price with warranty. My buddy just used fullboreonline and is happy, but he paid a few hundred more.

Is your 2001 still the carb engine or did you get one of the late ones with the DI engine. The DI will cost you more (wallet and headache wise imo).

good luck

Thanks

One thing I WOULD want to do is make sure I got MY engine back (unless case is busted or something catastrophic) because I KNOW what it has been through and maint. etc. And I KNOW it has never even been near salt water EVER. I think SBT will redo your engine if you make arrangements. Fullbore definitely wants your engine first. 2 months ago he was offering free return shipping, but as the season nears that deal is off.

A warranty is a warranty. If the engine is messed up I'd think it would mess up in the the first year.
