I’m going to look at a 2014 GTX S 155, it might be a GTX 155, no S, I’m unsure. It has under 30 hours on the meter.

Any known issues with these models?
Any check list of things to look for?
What should I expect to see for top rpms and gps top speed?

Thanks

If your just looking, general condition and maintenance records. Corrosion on engine parts and jet pump. If it looks good it probably is. If your test driving. Hard start issues, hopefully with a cold engine. Vibration issues. Oil leaks, bilge should be pretty. Oil quantity on dipstick and color of oil. Carbon seal dust and dry bilge. General smooth acceleration, make sure the VTS and IBR work without codes. WOT rpm and top speed. Look up values on internet for the ski. Within a couple hundred RPMS and 5 mph. Scroll thru active code list on MFD display. Should be no active codes.

Thanks for the info. I’ll check everything you’ve listed, but I don’t know what the carbon seal would be

The carbon seal keeps water from entering the hull where the driveshaft goes thru the hull to the impeller. The bottom of the hull area may have a slight gray carbon line from wear where the driveshaft is spinning and throwing some carbon dust onto the hull. Or even a very obvious line, meaning substantial wear. If the hull floor area under the driveshaft boots is not discolored or has obvious gray powder residue, that is a good sign of minimal carbon seal wear.

Thanks, I looked it up but just found what the part is. Your explanation on what to look for is very helpful!
