I have a Challenger 2000 jet boat. It has a retractable ski post that is about 18-inches long. When I use it to pull tubes the rope rubs the pad at the back of the sun deck. Does anyone know where I can get a longer (4-6 inches) post?

the longer the pole, the harder on the hull.

I would not install a longer pôle, you might damage the boat. The longer the pôle, the harder the lever effect will be. More stress and gel coat might crack or fiberglass might break. Unless you strenghten the assembly.

Another memeber recently suggested using a tow device called a booster ball. It comes with the rope and a large inflatable ball. It keeps the rope up out of the water. It might change the angle and help you.

You really shouldnt use the ski pole to pull tubes though. It puts way too much drag on the boat and may damage the pole. The pole is meant for skiing. You should use the rear tow hook for tubes.

Does anyone have info on how to install one of these? Its seems it was a dealer option as well, but no one carries one. I hate getting a whole tower, as I go under small bridges all the time, but I'd like to have something higher than the rear eyelet for kneeboarding. An aftermarket pole would be fine as well, but I cant find any info on installing one on a Challenger 1800!

Im glad to have read this post. I just bought a 2001 sportster and probably would have put the tube on there. Thanks
