Little tired of the audio system already lol... What woud be best bet..

Well I took the boat out twice so far and have to admit.. I dont really want to mess with too much on this boat (2010 Sea-Doo Speedster 150) but come on.. i dont know if its just me but i feel like i turned the radio up and it was barely even on and the speakers were crackling and not coming in clear when the music turned up... Like I said i dont want to go ripping everything out and redoing the whole boat.. but was curious if swapping out the speakers would help at all.. I know i have the Jensen headunit and was planning on maybe adding the Jensen wired remote so that I can actually control the radio from drivers seat but was wondering if just swapping hte speakers will help boost sound quality at all.. Also hoping to get the system a little louder so that i can hear a little while underway.. once you get moving you cant hear anything as it is now.. Thanks for any input..

Swapping out the head unit and speakers wll make a difference. Get some good quality speakers. You still probably wont hear it while moving though. These boats are noisy and the wind alone cancles out most audio systems. If you wanna add more speakers and an amp though, you can jam while full speed.

Try playing with the different EQ settings. I have the 230 Challenger SE. Really makes a difference.

Thanks for the input.. Yea I didn't mess with it too much.. I put a cd in and started turning it up while sitting idle and it was ok but if you go to turn it up past like 20 or whatever it was it got really choppy and came in like crap... I might look into adding more speakers but really didnt want to do to much "extra wiring" to the boat.. I have had cars before and every time i did anything they always tried blaming the aftermarket stuff on the problem.. I figured if I just swapped speakers they really might not notice too much.. I mean I think I might add the Jensen Sirius unit and the Jensen wired remote but if I am not mistaken there is no extra wiring as far as tapping for power and whatnot.. jensen's site just shows plugging them into the headunit so we'll see... Just have to see fi I really want to cut a hole into the dash lol and if there is even room for it... but that was one thing i hated.. not being able to fidle with the radio without having to stop and basically make everyone move so i could see the radio...

If it you want it to sound decent, you have to ditch the Jensen. It doesnt matter what you add on to it, its still crap.

You can buy entire marine grade systems so cheap!!!...Just did a complete install on mine with killer sony,amp,4 speakers,wired remote and wireless remote for 260$ overnited.
And it pounds!

I know its cheap but i just know how dealers can be.. like i said i have done mods before in the past and dealers tried blaming every little thing that went wrong on the aftermarket parts.. it was just a headache.. i just dont want to be dealing with the dealer saying well this electronic item failed because of X aftermarket item that you installed and having to prove them wrong and deal with the hassle.. i mean i know that since the boat already has the system there really isnt much wiring that would have to be done other then running power and ground for an amp but i have never worked on boats and have no idea on where to route things and whatnot.. on top of that it would be my luck to hook it all up and end up draining out the battery while in the middle of no where lol.. i just figured that maybe upgrading the speakers would help but if your saying the headunit is crap then maybe i should just deal with it for a while.. but just out of curiosity.. does anyone have a speedster 150 and know the best way to route power/ground cables? i mean maybe i can just add an aftermarket amp and better speakers and keep the Jensen headunit.. ill just bypass the Jensen built in power of the headunit and upgrade the speakers and add the amp and that should be more then enough i would think.. i figure i can put the amp behind the radio/guage area and just run the power/ground wires for the amp directly to the battery if i can figure an easy way to route the wires..

You don't have much to worry about the dealers. Wait until your 1 year warranty is up and change your stereo. Your extended warranty covers nothing...and I mean nothing...

Changing your speakers will make a difference, just maybe not to the level you are wanting. Stock sucks period so anything you can change is going to be better. Just make sure you get speakers that can handle an amp down the road if you decide to add one. That keeps you from having to buy speakers yet again.

I have had this boat in my shop for a couple of return visits each time to add a little more punch to the audio system
Currently all stock audio equipment has been removed with the exception of the infinity com controlled amplifier, this is currently running 2 sets of Exile audio wake tower speakers which are awesome 360 degree rotation and quick disconnects to remove the tubes so they dont get robbed from your boat. These are amplified by the Infinity com amplifier, 2 pairs of Exile 6.5 co axials in stock location these are running off of an Exile 400.4 New Clarion M309 Head unit with MW1 dash mounted remote control with display Usb Flash drive . Saturday i will be adding another pair of Exile 6.5 co axes another Exile 400.4 . Two Infinity 860 w subwoofers in vented enclosures this boat is amazingly LOUD already There will also be another MW1 wired LCD remote mounted out on the swim deck for ease of use. Will post some pics soon

Sounds sweet! I kinda wish I would have gotten an amp with an intercom so I could help instruct the kids who are trying to learn to wakeboard and ski.
