Northern weather....!
Delaware?........yeah, pretty cold up there. If you keep your eye on Dave's (D 5UPE), you'll see that dude over in the English Channel with temps below freezing.......now, thats what I call a die hard.........:rofl:
We're seeing some temps drop into the lower 50's but nothing yet telling me it's time to bring in the ski (the boat motor is being worked on, so it's in for the year). It only freezes maybe 2 or 3 times a year but the water temps get to cold to conisder comfortable. So, boat ridin is bout all I do when it gets cold.............:cheers:

I'm envious. I had our ski winterized about a month ago cause the weather was so crummy in October. Then we've had several nice days in November. That's one of the reasons I'd like to move into a boat instead of the ski, a little drier, more protected ride might allow us to extend the season a little.

I must admit, I'm happy to be living in the south when it comes wintertime. Of course, in summer, we're all hollering for the colder climate because the humidity makes you feel so sticky and though it's only 95*F, the humidity makes it feel like 105*F. But, after the cool down, your screaming for warmer temps. Now,our days are running in the low 70's and nights in the 50's. My wife is from New York and she wants to leave the window open. I usually wait for her to fall asleep, then get up to close it. I can't figure how she would want the window open when I got the heater one........:rofl:

I moved here in S.W. Florida from Upstate N.Y. for the year round water use. It's endless summer here year round...it does get cool in January...water temp about 60* air average in the 70's. I used to Run my Kawasaki stand-ups till the lake I lived on froze over...sometimes as late as late December...then Back in the water about mid to late April...after the thaw. I sometimes hit the Hudson River in February and jumped ice chunks during a winter thaw day if it hit say 50*. I was on the local news channel a few times while playing in the fridged ice water. I don't miss that much anymore. I guess I'm getting too comfortable with the warm weather here.
I know every time I mention the warm weather here, I get a cold response from other members who live up north.
Living here is like buying a new car...you just want to show it off all the time. Believe me I had enough of the freezing weather, life's too short...so I moved.

I owned my business and home back in N.Y. Sold everything and opened my business up here in Florida. Now it the economy would only jump back.
I let 4 people go about 15 months ago...my wife took another job teaching pre-school part time a year ago Sept, and I haven't pulled a check from my company in 17 months...yeah it's a little slow...the mortgage, electric and phone ect come first before I get paid. Numbers for my company are like 75% off in the last 2 years.

We're not giving you a cold response, it's just that we're speechless. We're all envious and we'd all like to come down and visit you for about 4 month. How many rooms do you have? Or at least a big enough yard for a couple hundred campers and RV's?
I just noticed in your info. that you're in Englewood. My parents used to winter in Englewood. Unfortunately, that was about 30 years ago. At that time I was fairly fresh out of college and couldn't afford the water toys. Now that I've got the toys, there's no place to go.
I look at winter up here as a good time to get upgrades and repairs done and I won't feel like I should be out playing instead. :ack:
Heck, I have 4 vacant lots and an empty lift at my dock...COME ON DOWN...The waters fine. You can camp in my yard or use the local hotels. Englewood is a sleepy little town that's proud of being a "drinking town, with a fishing problem" :rofl: My parents moved here about 20 years ago...I wish they did that when I was in High School. The problem with friends and family visiting, which is strange... mostly in the winter, when they do visit...they remind me of fish after 5 days....
Sorry WEEZ for hijacking your "last ride of the season" thread... but you could make it down here on vacation this winter...there, fell better now, we're back on track. :rofl:
