K@N flame arrestors replacing factory airbox

It seems like the factory air intake setup on my 1995 speedser is very restrictive. I have one of these arrestors on my 96 spx and it works really well so I figured why couldn't i get two for the speedster. I just saw also they made carb adapter for them, but can you just bolt it to the carb? I belive thats whats been done on my spx thats how it came when i bought it.

there are threads on this subject, and the general thought about changing the air-box on a boat is... "don't do it."

it doesn't give you a real performance enhancment... it doesn't protect the carbs from water... and the tuning isn't as stable after the swap.
