I don't normally do work for hire but he asked me to do it and for what the dealers charge to winterize I thought "hey, I can't really pass up free money."

So I get the ski back to my garage and start going through it:
Both taillights burnt out (also found wire nuts used, not sure why)
No fire extinguisher
No hull registration numbers
No state law sticker (required by law)
Low tire pressure
The positive battery terminal has been cranked down WAY too tight, broke off and is just kind of stuck in place, I'm surprised no one got stranded by that.

You might be thinking, yeah I've seen worse...... this is a two year old Seadoo Wake with 15 hours on it and has spent it's entire life in a heated garage.

In the guy's defense he's very busy with work and doesn't really have time to mess with a jet ski, which is why he hired me to take care of it I guess. Thought it was a funny story.

I have some spare fire extinguishers from part outs, I can send you one pretty reasonable if interested.

Shipping will prolly be more than the dam thing is worth ($5).

edit:just saw your location prolly cheaper through nick, he's local

Yep this is a classic :) Especially considering 15 hours. Have to wonder about the fire extinguisher, "might've been the three or four sixpacks I dunno but look at the shape I'm in......." "Oh Wasn't That A Party?" :O

not surprising, when i was a kid i did some work on boats and skis for my dad's friend and it was always the same thing: get the skis running for 4th of july weekend, we're having a big party and the kids will want to ride them.

seemed like it was always 1) buy new batteries 2) run out the 1/4-1/2 tank of old gas from last 4th of july weekend and refuel with good gas to get it running decent again.

they had a polaris SLT 750 and the really interesting one, an Explorer. I still keep an eye out for one of those local, i'd love to have one to play around with.
