Very happy to report after going through the entire fuel system, oils system, and cleaning raves she runs perfectly! Arms are tired but fun evening at the lake.

Well you're lucky, just 6 months ago you never would've been able to get a new sticker, but now thanks to [MENTION=51350]Jetskigoodies[/MENTION] you can get a brand new one just like oem. Just contact Mike @ pwc graphics
Thanks! Got it for free this spring. Purchased with an 89 yamaha 500 and 94 xvr pro on it for $800. Sold 89 for $150 and after a lot of cleanup and a carb rebuild sold the 94 for $800.

I'm not sure how exactly. I was jumping wakes and having a good ol time then looked down and saw it was 90% gone.
I did see some reproductions on ebay but will definitely check out pwc graphics. Just a shame to lose the OEM one on a clean machine.
It's a blast! Honestly after a quick initial test ride it ran ok but needed a carb clean and I wasn't too impressed with it. After getting it 100% it really woke up and is a ton of fun. It's definitely a rough ride in any kind of chop though and will wear you out.Nice Ski. Never got to ride an X4 800, but it just has to be fun. I had a 720 & thought that was a blast to drive. Seeing the storage cover is so nice too, no doubt that ski has been protected inside & used sparingly. Ohh so clean.
I got on the '00 XP for 20 min after riding the '96 and it was nice to have a smoother ride through the chop. The XPL also smokes it on top speed by about 14 mph.

Get a set of trim tabs for the 96. It will make it ride much much smoother

I was thinking the same thing! Looks to me like that cover was never out in the weather, and probably had a blanket or tarp over it it's whole existence while staying indoors! I would love to get a nice cover like that for my 1996. I have the OEM "Dust Cover", but I would rather have one of the nicer canvas ones like that!
Here is a photo of my 1996, I love it. I had it out last weekend for the first time, after new fuel lines and oil lines, it runs like new. It hadn't seen the light of day, much less water in about 10-15 years before I bought it earlier this spring. Checked the hours on it this weekend, and it only has 41 hours on it!

Haha, I bet you would! I will kindly decline your offer though! I'll try my luck at finding a good clean cover for sale down the road!
Yeah, I love the purple as well, it really stands out on the ski. The ski is really rare as is, and the fact that its just as clean under the seat that it is on the outside makes it that much more special.
I love seeing clean skis like these! Makes me happy to see something so old looking so good!
