I am the proud new owner of a 1995 seadoo XP. It runs well and has solid compression. The fuel lines have already been replaced and the fuel filter is clean. I am planning on the following mods.
Impeller and new wear ring
Nozzles
Intake grate
Factor Pipe
Carb rebuild kit
Replace VTS, motor does not work but I think the gauge is working.

Am I on the right track here? Also, which impeller and nozzles should I get that would work best with the added power of the Factor Pipe?

Hi, and welcome to the SeaDoo forum.

IMO if this is a recreational ski I would leave it pretty much stock, maybe a new intake grate and a new impeller. Seadoo does a pretty good job of getting max hp out of these little motors and almost anything that you do is going to have an effect on reliability. You're going to spend several hundred dollars and get maybe 2-3mph increase. I do know that if you add a factory pipe you will also need to re-jet your carburetors. The best advice I can give you is if you want a faster ski, buy a faster ski, sell your 95XP and get a 96XP or 97-99SPX, you will be money ahead and have the performance you want.

If you are into racing or want to do the mod's anyway there's a guy on here that can give you some good advice Matt Braley

Thanks Lou.
Yes you can make a monster out of that 717 with a Factory pipe but they are bad about burning up pistons so you have to be careful. If you do then you would use the prop and nozzles that the 96XP, 97-99SPX would use. Normally that is a Solas XO or a Skat Trak swirl 16/23 or 16/24 impeller and 85/88 nozzles.
