i just bought a 1997 seadoo challenger 14ft.
The previous owner was vary stuck on keeping his battery. Said it was a tubular battery or something. Anyway, now i need to go out and buy a battery for my boat. What kind do i get?
Is there a special size, voltage etc...

Someone please help.
Thank you

Ok, so where exactly do you get an Optima Blue Top from? I'm guessing the auto stores won't carry this.

Also, I have the same boat which I myself have just gotten recently (about a week and a half ago) and want to know if the steering is only operable with the key on?

Your steering wheel should turn freely all the time. Is the wheel hard to move? Does it move at all? Might be rusted steering cables or is there anything that is obstructing the steering nozzle?

I agree that the Optima Blue Top is a great battery, but you can do as I did and get a 24 series Marine Starting battery from Walmart for about $50 - $60. Double check that your Challengers take the same battery as my Speedster - keep in mind snaps you have a 14.5' and maxtoro you have the 18' - I bet they are the same size battery.

The wheel doesn't move at all, and the nozzle isn't obstructed by any object that I may see, I have sprayed most of the outer parts with lube since I know I'm going to be taking something apart anyways.

I'm going to get the manual soon to start diagnosing the general things first and work my way in.
