Jet Ski Runs Great And Than Bogs

My Jet ski runs great for about 30 mins than it starts to bog and surge. Than after I shut it off for like a minute or 2 it will run good again until it starts to bog again.

Please let me know if you can help

It will start by having spuratic rpms and than go down to a steady lower rpm barely on plane.

I had a similar thing happen when one of the couplers on the exhaust came loose and then the motor started taking in all the smoke.

Does the motor seem overly hot when this happens?

No the engine definitely is not running hot

Honestly not sure if I'm leading you on the wrong path, but it sounds like your having a fueling issue.

First what ski are you working on?

If it’s an exhaust leak it will starve the engine of oxygen and won’t always run hot.

Your fuel tank vent could be plugged causing the tank to build a vacuum and starve for fuel.

Your fuel tank vent could be plugged causing the tank to build a vacuum and starve for fuel.

I had a similar issue, check for an exhaust leak between the head pipe and manifold, headpipe and stinger, and the exhaust coupler.

I actually just noticed there was a small pin hole in the head pipe. I'll see if I can fix it and see if that does anything.
