Jet pump seal

How important is it to make a perfect seal from the jet pump to the hull? I have a 97 speedster and I see no gaskets specified. But the previous owner looks like they used some kind of silicone. Should I just scrape it off and reinstall the jet pump to the boat or should I resilicone

Scrape off the silicone and buy the correct seal. If it leaks it will cavitate and feel like a slipping clutch.

When i go to seadoo warehouse.com there is no seal part. Simply the wear ring that presses up against the pump support. Is there something i am missing or are you suggesting an aftermarket solution.

You need the neoprene seal. It doesn’t show for all models but is needed.
