I'm rebuilding a jet pump on an 1800 sportster. I was wondering if anyone has a write-up anywhere on how to do this. I ordered the kit from SBT and I have more 0-rings left that I'm not sure where they go. I'd prefer not to have this thing leak!

I don't have a write up, but unless you're replacing the bearings, it's basically replacing the front wiper seal, and the O ring around the cone on the back.

Remember to use locktite 518 around the O ring, oil fill plug, and front seal.

Hmmm.....that's what I was thinking too. But there's three more o rings in the package that came with the rebuild kit. Just making sure that I'm not missing something. My jet pump was so tore up, that I wouldn't be suprized if and O ring had completely deteriorated into nothing. Thanks for the reply though. I just wanted to make sure before I sealed it back up.

The other orings might be for the floating ring. Two for the inside, one bigger one to retain it. (old design before metal ring clip).
