Okay searched the board ... did not see anything.

How long should it take to rebuild a Jet pump from a mid 90's Seadoo first time around? I figured an hour to 1 1/2 hrs if it is already off the hull...

Was trying to figure out if it is worth doing myself or bringing over to a dealer to do. Know I need a couple specialty tools which I am trying to track down from a friend.

Thanks for assistance/advice.

You need a couple of specialty tools but its not hard. Once you have the pump off it takes maybe an hour to do the rest once you have all the parts.

Okay .. thanks for input - I was able to track down the bearing removal tool and someone gave me an impeller tool made from old drive shaft awhile back.

The seal/bearing installer tool I think I tracked down one I can borrow. I already have a Mity-Vac pump that I use for opo-off tsts and pressure testing duties.

Think I am good to go ... once we order the parts -

thx again for input

The impeller tool (the real one). Is like $10 on eBay and totally worth it for impeller changes. First use pays for itself.

Yep an hour is all it should take once you get the impeller off, which can be a real pain. Other than the impeller tool you really don't need anything else. I used sockets and an extension to remove/install the bearings. Easy job. Bring it up here with a case of beer and I can do it for you. Remember to check the pump/engine alignment.

Unless you have a 95 GTX like mine and the damn pump was glued on with epic amounts of RTV. Needless to say, it's at the dealer now getting the pump rebuilt.

I know, but your time and mine are valuable. I did a lot of work on my SeaDoos myself, I'm ok with them doing the pump rebuild. I didn't want to drag it all the way back to Houston.
