I just finished rebuilding the engine in my 2005 seadoo GTX 4tec sc. I took it to the lake for the first time Saturday and it ran awesome. I didn’t take it over idle much except for a few short burst mainly because it was the longest it had ran after rebuilding it and I wasn’t quite sure if I’d need to be towed back or not, so I stayed near the dock. While riding it, the check engine light came on and it gave me code P1202. Does anyone have any ideas as to what sensors to test and how to test them to pinpoint what exactly the issue is? It ran awesome probably 10 minutes and it flashes that code. It didn’t put it in limp mode or anything so I idled back around to the dock and loaded it up.

A couple days later of it sitting it the yard without running it or really messing with it much at all, I noticed oil had been draining out of the drain plugs in the Hull. I’ve watched the dipstick since then and it isn’t leaking fast but it is definitely leaking. It was full on Saturday and it just got down to the bottom of the dipstick today(Tuesday) . When we rebuilt the engine, we sealed up everything to factory specs and followed the shop manual meticulously. We replaced every seal and o ring on it. It was also my first time ever working on a Jetski. While it was sitting on the engine stand fully assembled with oil in it, it didn’t leak any oil whatsoever except for what came out the hole for the drive shaft. So now that it’s leaking oil in the ski, it leads me to think it’s the PTO seal on the back of the motor. Is this a common place to find leaks? If I were to replace it, Should I replace both the rubber boot and the bearing in the PTO seal assembly or could I get away with just replacing the boot if the bearing isn’t leaking anywhere? We did not replace any of that when we rebuilt it. I want to fix it right but also would like to save money where I can. Haha. Thanks for any help!!

From the Seadoo manual:

P1202 - "Oil tank pressure switch implausible or blow-by valve still closed"

Possible cause:
Damaged oil pressure switch, blow-by valve failure, damaged circuit wires, damaged connector or damaged ECM pins.

Service Action:
Check for 1.27 to 2.47 ohms between terminals.
Check if TOPS is connected to wiring harness.
Check resistance at 0 RPM and above 3500 RPM. At high RPM the resistance should be close to 0 ohm.
Check for 12 volts on pin 1 of the blow-by valve.

Did you replace both O rings in the PTO booth? If thy are old and hard, they leak. Made that mistake once to not replace and do the job again...

Thanks for your help! I did not replace those O rings, that may be my issue. Hopefully ill get a chance to take it apart this weekend and see whats going on.
And Where is the oil pressure switch? Both of my identical skis are still giving me the same error code. The code doesn't come up on either of them until about 10 minutes(give or take, its just not immediate) into the ride.
