Just purchased a 10999 GTX LTD. compression 130 both cylinders . Replaced fuel lines, rebuilt carbs. Starts fine, runs well at idle. Accelerates well off idle. Wont accelerate past 30 MPH/3500 RPM in the water. Runs like a top till then. I've read alot of posts and haven't seen one that describes this specific issue. Any help would be appreciated.

You are describing 80 % of the posts on here....usually its a fuel delivery problem. Start with the battery fully charged, load test it. Check your charging circuit,,.check compression,,,run the inline fuel line directly from the fuel pickup to the carb.

I know, Thanks

My 96 GTX acted like this when the voltage regulator was bad. Not sure if the 99 is the same. There is a wire you can disconnect near the regulator that then lets the ski run on the battery only as a diagnostic. If it runs great, there you go. That has helped me find several failed regulators (I had a run of bad luck). Make sure that the battery is good and fully charged because that’s providing all the electrical power.
