Intermittent power gain/loss

Hi. I have a '97 SeaDoo Challenger 1800 that intermittently gains and loses power on the port engine. It fluctuates badly.

The fuel has been replaced, so I don't believe that is the issue. It feels and sounds as if it is spark. The starboard engine runs like a champ, so it is definitely isolated to the port engine.

For example, at any RPM other than idle, the port engine's speed is very hard to stabilize. I usually have to set that throttle then adjust the other to match it. At cruising speeds, I can hear and see the RPM's speed and slow down, and it doesn't much matter if it is rough or calm water. Eventually it just quits, and the ONLY way to restart it is to pull the key, replace and it fires right back up every time. It will not re-fire unless resetting the key.

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for your advice. I'll be glad to add any details you need if I can.

Steve
