I have a 2003 Sea-Doo for TEC supercharged ski. Went to start it the other day for the fourth time that day and I had no power to the display and no beep when inserting the key. Checked the fuses in front of the motor and played with the key for a while and finally got the beep and a start but I had to shut it off because I was standing next to the ski. I’m thinking the problem is in the post or maybe the key itself. After that one start up it returned to the no start issue. I’d appreciate anyone’s opinion on this

Without the key on the post, can you press the start button and wake up the display? If not, it is probably the little black relay in the fuse box is bad. The display should power on without the key on the DESS post.

Older 4tecs don't wake up by pressing the start button. Only putting the key on will wake up.

There also is no external "little black relay" and no "fuse box" on the older 4tecs. It is an internal function of the MPEM and ECU that wakes up the system when the key is attached.

Check the post first, they do fail fairly frequently.

My bad, glad you corrected my post
