i purchased a 2000 sea doo challenger(dual engine) Was wondering if i could get som insight on the water drain inside the boat. Seems like the water drains from inside the boat thru a tube to the back of the boat and out somekind of manual ball valve. There is a black housing with a ball inside to block water. Does this have a life expectany or does it need to be lubed somewhat?
My problem is sometime it seems like the ball gets stuck when sitting and fills the boat up a inch or two. when I take off it all goes out. It seems it is sticking somewhat. Any help , ill take thanks

That's called a scupper valve. No... they do not require any maintanance... but they do get dirty, and wear out. I would first check it for anything holding it open. If there aren't any leaves, or dirt in it... it's just time to change it.

FYI... it's a generic part, so you can get it at any boat dealer for about half the price of a SeaDoo shop. I changed mine this year, and I paid $7 for it.

Thank you Tony,
First jet boat, put some money in one of the outdrives, but getting rid of the little kinks now, and I love taking it out....!
