Thrust bearing?....
Thrust bearing?.......yes, you should have a tiny amount of axial (back and forth) movement. That is normal. It actually states in the manual to check that you have this in order to be certain that you did not pinch your thrust washer and bearing.
When you start the ski on land, you hear that rattling noise, thats why, the play in the thrust bearing. When you load that bearing up with torque, in the water, you don't hear it.
Make sure you do a pressure test on it. If you do not do it, make sure you remove the nozzle at the end of the riding season and dip something into the oil fill and check for water emulsion.
Fill the pump with 3 oz. of polyolester oil. This is a synthetic oil and cannot be changed out with a mineral oil..........
