idel problem

i just had a shop install a fresh built motor 02 gtx di and it will not stay idel u have to gold the gas to keep it running it has one new tps sensor and maintance light is flashing as well i dont know what thats for

well, like we told you today already, check compression, if compression is low, ---- fix low compression and dont worry about it !!!!!!!!!!
cause your trying to butter cold corn, did you ever try and butter cold corn ????

i just checked the compression with the injectors off and gas wide open 130-135 in both cylinders but i still have a idel problem

well, im posting this, but i feel you have an engine problem, cause you posted a thread today on how to break in an engine, then you posted another about low compression, now your compression is good ??? ok, anyways, if you replaced your tps, then, you have to set minimum tps with a scanner at a dealer, or an independent shop with a scanner tool, (there is no other way around this) then, set idle at around 3200 rpm out of water, then it should be around 1500 plus or minus 150 in the water, but if you have an engine problem, you are wasting your time .........

with the injectors running and gas closed it shows 115 with the injectors off and as open its shows 130-135 and then it will not iddel out of water it ides around 1500 to 2300 and runs and shakes and tunrs off so you tell me what you think it is

Sounds like the idle is set too low like Griz said around 3200 on the trailer, should be around 1500 in the water. Unfortunately since you have a DI (direct injection) you need to take it to a dealer.

Just curious, did you have this problem before you replaced the engine?

I know a guy in Corbin that has an independent shop, I'm not sure if he has the equipment for your ski, if you're interested I'll find out. You do know from all your other symptoms setting the idle may not fix the other problems.

i mean thats the only think i got a problem with i was just sceard for the compression i did not know i had to turn the injectors off and open the gas wide so if thats how you check it then i got good compression then when i break it in it will be somewhere round 140 i guess, but my only problem now is my maintance light is flashing and i cant idel whats about it

ok, let me type a little slower, when you changed the tps, you have to get minimum tps set into the mpem by a dealer, or someone that has a scanner for your model of ski, then, you can set idle , out of water to around 3200 rpms, then it will be around 1500k, plus or minus 150 rpms

I think youll find your compression will vary a bit until your engine is broken in. This is normal, when your compression levels off (doesnt change) thats a sign that its broken in.
