Oil is getting into my closed loop cooling system when the engine runs. Water turns to a chocolate shake cooler. The oil level depletes slowly. Water is not getting into the engine oil.

Whats going on and what can I do? Phil

If it turns out to be your intercooler i have a used one I could sell you for 50 bucks it only has 70 hours on it . It's from a 2006 Rxp 215 supercharged

The intercooler uses lake water and is not related to the closed loop cooling system.

The oil pressure is higher than the coolant pressure so it is being forced into the coolant at a leak location where they are both present in the sealed system. A common place for this to happen is at the oil cooler.

Instead of buying new parts and hoping, why don't you just test it first? All you have to do is partially remove the intake manifold so it can be pivoted forward and then remove the 4 bolts to the oil cooler and then put some air pressure to the oil line of the oil cooler and see if it holds pressure or bleeds out to the coolant lines. The whole process should take about 30 minutes.

There are other places that this same leak between the oil and coolant can occur, like the pto gasket as well as others. If you keep buying parts and hoping it may end up being a very expensive fix.

I believe I mentioned that I already purchased a new oil cooler. What I see as a big problem is getting at the oil cooler with the motor in the jet ski. Its at the bottom of the motor a extremely difficult to get out no matter if I run the test or just put the new one in. Any suggestions on getting to the oil cooler?????
Phil

you have to pull this part

It looks like you did it right. You don't actually have to pull the intake manifold out, you can just pivot it forward to get plenty of access room to the oil cooler. Now just take the 4 bolts out on the oil cooler but is better if you drain the oil first, even then you should put rags under it because it will leak quite a bit of oil.

Thanks again
I will pull the cooler out tomorrow so I will be ready to put the new one in when it arrives in a few days.

Flushing oil out of the cooling system on my 2006 SeeDoo 4Tec supercharged

i got the new oil cooler and will put it in tomorrow. I can't seem to find on the internet how to flush out the oil contaminated cooling system. Is the a special procedure???
Phil

There is a drain screw in the back of the ride plate. Use straight water on your first fill after the fix. Run it on the water up to temp and then drain. You may have to do this a couple times until the water runs clear when draining. There are some cooling system flush additives but I'm not a big fan of these as they leave stuff behind.
