Well, my boat turned off and I couldnt get it to restart, and soon enough I was about to hit some rocks out on the Colorado River in Laughlin/Bullhead City. I jumped out to save my boat from hitting rocks, pulling the tow rope, the tow rope get wrapped around my legs, I almost drowned there, I let go of the rope to untie my leg, and the river took me about a half a mile.

I started screaming like a little girl, it was five minutes and I couldnt swim to shore, the current kept taking me, I stopped trying to swim because I saw it was fruitless, the more I tried to swim, the more tired I got, and I wasnt going anywhere with the current, finally I just decided to float and try to get my energy back and by the grace of God I started screaming at some people on jetskis and they came to help me. Im telling you, I was about half a mile from my boat, luckily I had my life vest on, everything happened in about 5 seconds, unbelievable.

Anyways thats my story! I dont think Im going back to rivers, im sticking to lakes from now on.. and being more careful I really though I was going to die.

OMG
Glad you made it back safely.
Never go down with the boat. Women and children first :D

Glad you made it safely. you need to fix whatever is wrong with your boat instead of continuing to take it out and always being stranded.

Thank you, you are absolutely right, how sad, I definitely need to do that. I thought I did everything right 2 days before I took it out, I recharged the battery over night, I went through all the screws made sure everything was tight. I premixed again to be extra sure. I thought I would tackle the carb issue "after" I got back. After all that, this happened to me.

I didnt know that I could "reset" the starter by removing the lanyard dess and reseating it again. How dumb of me, this is getting pretty sad, I have a new story to tell you guys all the time, its getting tiring.

I dont know what else to do?

Well, since the best place to boat near my house is a wide area of the Potomac river, I'm not going to give up on it. But I hear you. Was out yesterday with my 2001 Challenger when the engines started acting up. One stalled, then the other. :ack: Got the port engine to run but at 4-5K max, it was a long slow limp up-river to the dock. It's good to have 2 engines!

Probably going to get an anchor, in case I lose both engines some time.

Every boat should have an anchor. And an oar for manual movement if the engines die.

I actually posted this and said you need to read up on what the coast guard requires...Then i thought about it and realized they arent actually required.....but i strongly urge you to carry them.

I dont mean to say it again, BUT I DO HAVE AN ANCHOR!

I threw it out! on the river, it didnt work! nothing worked! believe me the current wasnt a joke, Ive been to that river 9 years in a row, thats why I decided to buy a boat, because it was getting expensive renting seadoos all the time, plus in the little contract it states "you are responsible for any wear and tear on our boats or jet skis" one time, they wanted to charge $800 on my credit card, because they stated I hit it.

Anyways, it was really an experience, its so scary, Ill probably tackle it again... but Im gonna stay in lakes from now on..

But I do have to fix all my problems, by the way, does anyone know where I can get a reverse cable, I broke mine that day, I knew it was bound to happen, I saw it kinda giving out...

Glad to hear your okay ... +1 for having the life vest on. Imagine if it was your noggin hitting the rocks and you weren't wearing it!

Its a lesson Im glad I experienced now, I have a 8 year old boy and a 14 year old, how scary, its unbelievable how a small current like that can do. Im also going to tell you that I didnt respect the river, or respect my boat, I didnt read the entire manual on my boat, and I did last night, I learned so much.
