Hi, my name is John and I am a new here. I bought a 2009 RXP-X last year and i love it, me and the wife went out every weekend on it and had so much fun i decided to buy her, her own ski. I bought her a 2001 RXDI with 59hrs on it for $2500 in mint cond. I thought i got a great deal but after reading a few threads it seems like i might of bought myself a potential problem ski...is this correct? It seems to run great on the trailer but i have not taken it out on the water yet so i really dont know how well it runs. I really did not have a reason for choosen this particular model other then Sea Doo has been good to me so far with the RXP-X i figured i would buy another, and without the warrenty that comes with a new ski i figured i would go with a 2 stroke because it's something I can fix myself. So i chose this ski because it was really clean, inside and out, it has reverse which she wanted, and at $2500 i figured i couldnt go wrong. I have been working on 2 strokes (atv's and dirtbikes) since i was a kid but never dealt with this Direct Injection before. Is it a problem in the making for me? Thanks and any info would be great.

If its running well, there a great ski and haul ass, they scream, so so far you sound good. One thing to keep in mind is DO NOT flip this ski no matter what you do, they have an air compresser in there that does not like to get wet, and will cause you a massive headache if it does. Being direct injection it will be a little harder to work on than a carberated 2 stroke, so get the manual if you dont have it..

This compresser that doesnt like to get wet, is it still ok to wash the motor down after a ride? with the RXP-X i always wash it inside and out, taking the hose and rinsing off the whole motor while it's tilted up and the drain plugs open, will I be able to do this with the RXDI or not?
