How to tie the SPX to the trailer winch?

Winch on top, strap passes through winch mount UNDER the roller. Ski tight against the roller. This basically locks the ski in place. Can't go up due to the strap. Can't go down due to the roller and bunks. Any other way is simply not the correct or safest way to travel. And,,,, tie does in the back.

In the event of a large bump, quick stop or accident, if the strap is above the roller it actually aids to let the ski take off like a weapon.

Any good ideas for the back? I am using the tow loop right now.

The tow loop, using two straps, one going left, one right down to the trailer. (not the best pic, although I've used the single looped version before but I generally prefer two separate ratchet straps) (HF has some decent ones but they freeze up after about a year or two in my experience)

Side story, I was towing a tigershark 300 miles for a delivery last week and I only had one cheap strap handy (not the ratchet style, the clamp style) pulled down tight, took a turn a little too sharp and the trailer jumped the curb, ski bounced up a good 6 inches and landed half off the bunks and half onto the 2nd set of bunks (double trailer) had it been a single trailer it would have likely popped onto the ground, although i probably wouldn't have jumped the curb in a single trailer.

I was cursing my laziness in not grabbing the two heavy duty ratchet straps off my other trailer. Could have been a costly mistake or caused an accident 15 miles from my destination and at that point, the ski was still my responsibility. I was at least smart enough to use the strap on the inside so when it bounced it bounced towards the center of the trailer and not off the side.

no link but the description sounds correct, soft strap being the extra loop.

FWIW, I agree with the posters that suggested moving the winch to the top, strap below the roller, I've bought trailers with bottom mounted winches and the first thing I always did was move the winch to the top.

Using the tow loop is fine is the ski does not have the outer lifting loops. I have a tandem trailer and use a single strap on each ski. Run it from the center, through the lift ring, the other lift ring, then down to an outer tie down loop on the trailer. .

Well that's lame, an in action pic would have been cooler. Lol. Glad you snagged one, I think your gonna love it, I love the one on my HX trailer.

Wouldn't see why not, I have a similar on on my Speedster and it came that way from the factory. You just have a regular bow hook on the front, you could probably just reuse your other one that you just removed

The hook on the one I took off is too big. The way my sportster get hooked is: the strap is under the roller and when the bow is pressing the roller, the hook is actually needs to be underneath the roller. The flat big hook won't work I think. But I can try it tomorrow.
