How to check if the oil injector needs replacement??

Hi, so I've checked a few threads about oil injectors, and since I'm new with owning a seadoo, I was wondering if their was a way to check if it is operating correctly. I might take it to my mechanic but during the summer, it would be nice to keep an eye on it, since ill be using it alot and it can destroy your engine. Thanks for any feed back.

There is a way to test it using a drill, but that requires pulling it off, just make sure the lines coming it off it are not old and brittle, and have no air bubbles in them. If you place a mirror in front of it you should see the arm move when you hit the throttle. While your looking make sure the factory scribe marks are lined up.

All good checks that need to be made but the easiest way to verify operation is to have it idle on the trailer and pull the cable arm and it should start to smoke like crazy in just a few seconds letting you know it is working.

This ^^^^ is the acid test best practice IMO too.

I want to add, once the smoke cloud has enveloped the entire neighborhood to the best of your ability you can shut off the engine and pull the spark plugs to check them individually for wetness of oil. All of them should be drenched wet with oil if not there's an injector that might be plugged. You just fogged your engine, BTW.

Mat as well wash those plugs with carb cleaner before sticking them back in.

Sportster has a very good point and he an I were talking about fogging. Pulling the oil lever at idle is a good way to get oil to the bottom end for storage without all the hassle of fogging oil and mess in the airbox.

Awesome idea. That never occurred to me. Plus the smoke clouds are always fun to scare the neighbors.

Yep, one of those strange ideas that came to me in the middle of the night. It seemed so simple I had to confirm with Sportster. One of those "I did think of that" moments.

I never thought of "fogging" this way. I'll try it next Oct. up here. ......hope no one calls the fire dep't

Thanks a lot guys, I'll try to pull on the wire and see what happens. And that fogging idea sounds good, I'll try it next winter.
