How much work to replace impeller shaft bearings / seals

I have been having trouble with water in my pump cone. Pulled the pump off the ski and it looks like the leakage is from behind the impeller. How bad is it pull this apart and replace the seals and bearings ? What type of special tools are involved ?

You will definitely need the impeller removal tool, check ebay. I made my own tool to knock the seal and bearings out, and used standard sockets to put them back in. What year and model ski are you working on?

if you can find the oem tools on ebay or the like, they make it super easy to do. you'll need the impeller tool for sure to take the impeller off the shaft, then with the oem tools, one of them drives the bearings and seal out the front of the pump. then one side of the other tool is used to set the correct depth of the two bearings, then the other side is used to install the seal. then you put the shaft in with thrust bearing and race, reinstall the impeller, put the cone on and pressure test, if its all good then you can fill it with gear oil and reinstall the pump.

I think these are much easier to do than it sounds.
Step 1. Go to Harbor Freight and buy a shop press. You will wonder why you waited so long and it's the same price as the "special" seadoo tool.
2. Use a socket and press the bearings and seal out through the front.
3. Press the new rear bearing in with same socket. The manual tells you how far to push it in, just go slow and measure frequently.
4. Do the same for the front bearing.
5. Use a larger socket to press the seal in.
6. Done!

Putting together ski and have to replace WR and thought of just replacing or inspecting ones in there at least.

I replaced the bearings and seals in mine last summer. I took the pump housing and the diagram for pressing them in to my regular auto mechanic (small independent shop) and he took care of it. Took almost no time at all - and he did not charge me.

Not everyone has space in their garage for a shop press, and with the dr Honda/oem tools its a quick job with a dead blow hammer.

I cannot believe a dedicated wrencher would ever make the statement "not enough room for a new tool" ... just put it on the kitchen counter ... say it is a new model coffee press, but you are waiting for the final part before you can use it.

you haven't seen my new garage. we moved in Dec. went from 4' at the front of the cars and 3' on either side to about 3' at the front with only part really useable and 2' either side of the cars. neighborhood is much better but the biggest sacrifice was the garage space.
