Pump oil...?

You'll need about 2 and 1/2 ounces. You do not have to buy the expensive Seadoo oils......

You can go to your local auto parts store and buy a gear oil with the GL classification.

I use the Mobile brand, GL5 75-90 synthetic gear oil. It comes in a pint or quart bottle.

The best way to do this is to let the boat tongue on the ground. Remove the 3 bolts that hold the pump cone on. Then, with a bowl of some sort under the pump, tap the cone from side to side while pulling, to take it off. You'll have an "0" ring in the cone's cap, so it'll have some resistance while pulling off.

Then, when the oil is draining, look at it to make sure it doesn't have a yellowish color. If so, then your seal at the forward end of the pump is bad.

If the oil is just darkened, then just continue to drain. When you have the cone off, you can lift the nose of the boat up to get all the oil out. Be careful not to sit the back of the boat on the ground with your pump nozzle off.

Then, put the tongue back on the ground, put a small dab of silicone or gasket sealant on the "0" ring (very thin film). Put the cone on and re-fill with oil. That's it.........your done...........

Thanks seadoosnipe, I looked real hard in my manual and found that it said to put in 3oz. of oil. Then I looked at the Seadoo oil bottal and saw that it said to put in 2oz. of oil ( I already bought the oil a month or two ago ). Anyway I put in 2.1/2 oz's. Thanks for your reply.

Good deal!....

Cool... good deal. Next time, you might think of the standard synthetic oil I mentioned. I only ordered that oil one time before looking for the properties they require so I could find a local oil. I hate having to order like that, you never know when you might need it in a hurry.....

I also fill the cavity completly. Just because it says it holds (2.7 oz.) a certain amount, I think most fill it up. If you read in the manual on maintenance, the manual recommends you top off your oil to the bottom of the threads.........

Just glad you could get the info you need to do the maintenance....
